Beach Air Tours and Safaris was registered on 22 October 1996 as a sole proprietorship under its director, Mr. Ferdinand Mwango, in Diani Beach on Kenya’s South Coast.
From a passion for hospitality and aviation to decades of arranging remarkable African safaris, our story has always been about connecting travelers with the best of Kenya and Tanzania.

A career spanning hospitality, aviation and safari tourism.
FOUNDER & DIRECTORFerdinand
Ferdinand
Mwango
Hotelier by training. Aviation professional by experience. Safari specialist by passion.
1982–1983
Studied Food and Beverage Services at Kenya Utalii College in Nairobi.
1984–1986
Worked as a supervisor at the renowned Carnivore Restaurant, part of the Tamarind Restaurant Group.
1988–1989
Joined Kenya Airways as a traffic clerk in operations at Moi International Airport.
Later career
Worked with Eagle Aviation Ltd on Maasai Mara flights, then led the Diani Beach office of Aircraft Leasing Services at Ukunda Airstrip until its operations ended in 1994.
1996–1997
Registered Beach Air Tours and Safaris in October 1996 and established its safari operations in 1997.

Beach Air states that it is licensed by the Ministry of Tourism, Kenya Wildlife authorities and the local municipality.
The company also states that its buses, jeeps and charter services carry international insurance in line with IATA standards, and that it arranges air rescue cover according to the days booked.
